Sodium Benzoate Is Widely Used As A Preservative For cosmetics Pharmaceutical And Food/Beverage Formulations. Benzoic Acid Or Nac7h5o2 Is Considered To Be Primarily An Anti-Fungal But Also Shows Some Activity Against Bacteria.
It Is The Sodium Salt Of Benzoic Acid And Exists In The Form Of White Powder/Granular Solid And Is Water Soluble. Often Combined With Potassium Sorbate In Low Ph Products It Provides A Synergistic Preservative Effect Against Yeast And Mould.
