It is intended primarily for the vanilla audience as it was created originally to be an account of fact told through the process of fiction so it was never going to get in to the dizzying heights of hard action BDSM fiction. It was going to remain grounded in reality and was going to deal with the human emotion. It would have to if it was going to be a wide reaching film. I've never read the shades books; but I know what people have been saying about them. That is partly what drove me to switch from film to book. It would stand a better chance of getting out there and ending some of the preconceptions that society has of us which are just plain damn wrong. To do that it also has to walk a second fine line the balance of education and entertainment. This was supremely difficult. So to those who are expecting the book to give you a kick in the gonads my apologies. I aimed for the heart and the mind on this one and I hope I've put the record straight as to why; and that you'll understand and support me on this. I hope that if this book does make it across the line in to the 'nilla community that it will undo some of the "damage" that people believe that shades has done to the image of our lifestyle in the world.
